RCKB INSTALLATION 2012-13.

New office bearers for Rotary Club Kampong Baharu was installed on Tuesday 19th. June 2012. The simple but meaningful ceremony took place at Rumah Jagaan Al-Ikhlas, Pulau Meranti, Puchong, Selangor. In conjunction with the occasion goods was presented to the home and the occupants were treated to a luncheon sponsored by the Club.

I Choose to Reuse.

Rotary Clubs in Malaysia and GIANT Hypermarket undertook this project to increase public awareness on the important of recycling to minimise waste. On Sunday 27th. May 2012 Rotary volunteers and GIANT staff distributed more than 137,000 green shopping bags to the public. The lucky shoppers on that day were given reuseable green bags instead of the normal plastic bags. The message was to reuse these bags for their shopping as many times as possible thus minimising waste if they were to use the normal plastic bags. This to enhance further the current campaign of not dispensing plastic bags on Saturday.
I happened to be in Kuantan at that time so manage to catch up with Kuantan Rotarians who were involved in the project.
