A joint, Group 12, Vocational awards night was held at Royal Selangor Club, Jalan Raja, on 25 October 2010. This event saw the coming together of 5 Rotary Clubs namely, RC Damansara, RC Bukit Komanwel, RC Cheras, RC Kg. Bahru and RC Titiwangsa. Eight members of the public were duly recognized for their dedication in carrying out their duties in their respective vocations while maintaining high moral and ethical standards .
The event was timed to coincide with RI’s Vocational Month (October) and the joint effort made an extra impact showing the unity and fellowship between Rotarians and Rotary Clubs.
Gracing the occasion was PP R. Shanmugam, district chairman of Vocational Service Committee. In his address, he congratulated the recipients on being hand picked for this recognition and commended them for being model members of the community with sound ethical values and great dedication in their profession. He further applauded Rotary for being one of the few organizations that has managed to provide humanitarian service to the community and encourage ethical vocational standards at the same time. This balance between these 2 forms of service profoundly distinguishes ‘Rotary’ from most of the other organizations.
In an effort to provide some Rotary information to non-Rotarians and Rotarians alike, a video presentation was played giving an overview of Rotary’s role in eradicating Polio from the face of this earth. Polio day was on 24 October.

Charter President Hj.Razali reporting on Membership Development.
DG Kok Beng sharing lighter moment with Rckbrians.
DG Kok Beng talk on 4 ways test.
Someting to remember from us.
District Governor (DG) Lim Kok Beng visit Rotary Club Kampung Baharu. 20th.Oct.2010.
District Governor official visit to any Rotary Club is an event that all Rotarian looked forward too. It is like the Pope visiting a church. Unlike the Pope who do not have the time to visit all the churches, District Governor make it a point to visit all the club during his one year tenure holding the highest office in a Rotary district. During the visit the District Governor would give his full attention to the club members. He would offer advise where necessary but most of all he would lent his ears to hear all the members complaints and grouses. Something which I do not envy as he had to cover more than 70 Clubs throughout the district 3300.

Members who could make it were Hj.Razali, Ruzman,Shah,Jamil, Datin Nor, Amran,Khairuzad and Tariman while those who were away Aida,Norlia,Sam,Feardaus and Jonnaidi.
